FX Fighter Kurumi-chan: the trading lessons behind the anime
FX Fighter Kurumi-chan is a TV anime, premiered October 1, 2026, about Kurumi Fukuga, a university student who enters the foreign exchange market. It is adapted from the manga by Demunyan and Daisuki Tansan, made by Studio Passione and streams on Crunchyroll. Its core lesson is real: leverage makes losses arrive fast.
About the show
The series runs 12 episodes, directed by Yuki Ogawa with scripts by Kenta Ihara. Aina Suzuki voices Kurumi and sings the opening theme. In Japan it airs on AT-X, Tokyo MX, BS11 and other channels; outside Japan it streams weekly on Crunchyroll.
The premise starts from a large foreign exchange trading loss of about 20 million yen, which is what pulls Kurumi into learning how the market works.
Leverage and margin calls
FX brokers let you control a position many times larger than your deposit. At 25 to 1 leverage, a 4% move against you wipes out the whole deposit. The broker does not wait: when your equity falls below the margin requirement, a margin call or automatic liquidation closes the position at the worst moment.
That is how a loss larger than expected happens without any single dramatic day. The position size, not the currency pair, decides how much a normal move can cost.
Risk per trade, stops and volatility
Professional traders size each position so that hitting the stop costs a small, fixed share of the account, often 1% or less. Size comes from the distance to the stop, not from how confident you feel.
A stop should sit where the trade idea is proven wrong, and that distance should respect how much the market normally moves. Average True Range (ATR) measures that: a stop inside one day's ATR is often hit by noise alone.
Writing the plan down before entering, and not moving the stop after, removes most of the decisions that turn a small loss into a large one.
Practice without risking real money
The safest place to learn what leverage and stops feel like is a simulator with real market data. Obelion Arena replays real historical charts so you can trade against other players with play money, see how your sizing holds up, and build the habit before any real account is at stake.
