Free gamma exposure chart
Obelion publishes a free gamma exposure chart for SPX, SPY, QQQ and more than a hundred liquid stocks and ETFs. Each page shows GEX by strike, total net gamma, the gamma flip and the call and put walls, built from CBOE delayed options data. No account or credit card is needed to view them.
What the chart shows
Each bar is the dollar gamma dealers hold at one strike, per 1% move in the underlying. Calls count as positive and puts as negative, the common convention that assumes customers buy calls and puts and dealers sell them.
The gamma flip is the price where total GEX changes sign. The call wall and put wall are the strikes with the largest call and put gamma on their own side of the current price. The methodology page lists every formula and data source.
How fresh the data is
The default source is CBOE's public delayed-quote feed. If it fails validation the server falls back to other sources and says so. Expirations more than 180 days out are excluded, because they carry little gamma near the current price.
When you need more than the free pages
The public pages are a snapshot per ticker. Inside Obelion Terminal the same data drives a GEX chart that refreshes during the session, gamma levels drawn on the price chart, delta and vanna exposure, and a dashboard that tracks GEX across a whole watchlist.
Questions
- Is the gamma exposure data real time?
- No. The free pages use CBOE delayed quotes. Users who connect their own Polygon or Tradier key in the terminal get data straight from that provider.
- Which tickers are covered?
- Major indices and index ETFs (SPX, SPY, QQQ, NDX, IWM, RUT, VIX), sector and macro ETFs, and the most actively traded single stocks. The full list is on the options data page.
- Why does GEX differ between sites?
- Sites make different assumptions about who is long and short each contract, which expirations to include, and whether to use the feed's gamma or their own model. Compare the methodology before comparing numbers.
